Apparently, after two years of not writing, my blog “The Cooking Historian” on tumblr was deactivated (it is safe to say that it isn’t a good idea to register something with an old email address).
But fear not: this is The Cooking Historian Reinvented (the 2.0 version, I suppose)!
I am a former historian and former restaurant cook who is still delightfully obsessed with both disciplines. While I have chosen to abandon each as a professional pursuit, I still regularly cook, and enjoy thinking and writing on the topic whenever possible. It is my hope to use this blog as an outlet for thoughts: thoughts on food and cooking, the roots of all of the above, and a reflection on where I fit in. I invite all to enjoy the process, and participate if the spirit moves you!
